Well this family is very much fun, I hope I go visit some day. I found a letter that Brooke wrote to me about them.
Dear Betty,
So in my family is Dad (my special person - I picked him out and
I have changed his life!) and Mom. Mom does everything - she
feeds us and washes us and takes us to the vet and pulls off our
ticks and takes us for rides in the car and gives us our medicine
and reads a million dog books to take care of us right and takes
us to obedience class and for walks and worries about us and
loves us and lots more. Dad throw rocks and he is WONDERFUL!
Brewster is my annoying little brother - he is a cocker spaniel, but
I don't hold that against him - he can't help it. He is 6 and quite
stout. He has some very definite personality quirks - like howling
desperately when there are no humans around. I keep him in his place by not letting him sit on moms lap, then he growls and I bark
and it gets pretty noisy. What he likes most in life is chasing
lizards and he is verrry good at that.
TC is my cat and he is very cool. TC stands for lots of things like
top cat,this cat,that cat,trail cat,talking cat,traveling cat and even
tyrannosaurus cat. Sometimes it stands for transient canine - he
thinks he is a dog. He goes on walks with us and everything. He
is about 12 and lived here even before mom and dad.
Lilly is my best friend and she officially lives next door but she comes
early in the morning and stays till mom walks her halfway home
every nite. She is a little younger than me (I am 8). She is of
questionable origin, she's brown and very fat, but she has lots
of energy and we run and play together.
Lilly is pretty smart to have two families loving her!
JR and Adam are the horses. Jr and Lilly have a relationship - she
chases him and then he puts his head down and chases her. She
is the only dog he has never kicked. He's not mean - he just likes
to keep us dogs in our place. He's 10 now and your mommy met him
when she came to California and he was still a baby. Adam is
a Clydesdale - that means very big horse. He is a nice mellow
guy and he will be 24 in May. Mom fell off of him once cause
he started to run and she didn't have a saddle or bridle or even
a halter on him (because usually she can't even make him walk)
anyway she said it was a long way down but she was ok and he felt
bad about it.
I do still have a Gran. She lives about 6 miles from us and she has
a Boxer named Kelly who gets jealous when I go to visit her but
she likes Brewster ok, and when she comes to visit me she is
nice. My gran always gives us lots of biscuits and other good stuff.
I had another best friend, Krissy, who is a Schipperkee but she
moved to Nevada. She came to visit last summer and we had
fun. I have to be careful not to step on her!
Lets see - Mom told you about our mornings but I'll tell you again.
In the mornings
she feeds the horses and then she feeds us and lets
us out and then we all go back to bed. Then we get up and
we all go down to the barn so mom can clean the stalls and do horse
stuff. We try to help her by eating horse poop but she doesn't really
appreciate our help. Then we feed the deer and go for a walk
and then mom feeds us.
On days off we usually just hang around here doing stuff.
Sometimes Brewster and I get to go to town - usually he gets to
go and I have to stay home with Lilly (she gets carsick).
So thats all about us. Oh, I forgot to tell you about me - I have
alot of arth-ur-itis. It's in my back and my knees and my elbows
so mom is always telling people not to throw stuff for me and
trying to keep me from running and stuff.

I hate that cause I just
love to run and play and have fun. Last year I had to have
surgery on my right knee for a ruptured cruciate ligament and
torn meniscus. It hurt alot and everybody - even the vets thought
it was just arth-ur-itis and it took alot of time to figure out what was
wrong. But that got fixed and I had to be on a leash for six
months - yuck.
Oh, Betty, you aren't the only one who likes food! The see-food
diet is my diet too. Brewster even likes vegetables but I have a
little more sense than him. My folks can't resist it when I look at
them with my big brown eyes - so I always get the left corner of
everything!
